The Three Types of Islamic Giving in Eid ul Adha Season
Eid ul Adha is the most concentrated period of Islamic giving in the entire year. Three distinct categories of giving apply, and understanding the difference ensures your charity is correctly structured:
Qurbani (obligatory sacrifice): This is the core act of Eid ul Adha. It must be performed within the days of Nahr (10th–12th Dhul Hijjah) by every eligible Muslim. It cannot be replaced by cash sadaqah — they are separate obligations
